Strengthening the electoral process in the Comoros

Wagner-Hatfield participated in the « Projet d’appui à la crédibilité et à la transparence en Union des Comores (PACTE-II) », which is financed by the EU and implemented by the European Center for Electoral Support (ECES).

This project aims to contribute to the organization of credible, transparent and peaceful elections in the Union of Comoros, and in particular to strengthen the capacity of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), to promote awareness-raising activities and electoral education implemented by the CENI and NGOs, to promote transparency of the electoral process and to strengthen the electoral process by supporting the reform of the legal and institutional framework.

Wagner-Hatfield has carried out trainings on election coverage for journalists as well as for institutional actors (the regulatory authority – CNPA, the electoral commission – CENI, the Ministry of Interior, the police and the Constitutional Court).

We also have provided a specific training on institutional communication for the CENI, especially on issues related to communication in times of crisis.
